Phrygia was enlivened with local tourists on Eid

The historical Phrygian Valley, a popular tourism center in İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar, became a popular destination for local tourists during the holiday period including the Ramadan Feast.

On the 25-kilometer “Phrygian Way” route between Ayazini village and Lake Emre, the vehicles of local tourists coming from Afyonkarahisar and neighboring provinces formed a density. Tourists visited rock settlements, monuments, caves and burial chambers dating back to the 3,000-year-old Phrygian civilization in the region and had a pleasant time in cafes and restaurants around Ayazini village and Lake Emre. Yunus Yılmaz, president of the Afyonkarahisar Phrygian Culture and Tourism Association, told Anadolu Agency reporters that the potential of domestic tourists in the region has increased due to the holiday.
Stating that the tourists are well hosted by the tradesmen in the region, Yılmaz said:
“Our historical sites in Phrygia are magnificent. In fact, the tourism activity of the Phrygian Valley is increasing every year. Our caves, rock settlements and chapels attract a lot of attention. Our feast days were very busy. Hopefully, our days in the new season will always be like this.”
“SHOPKEEPERS SATISFIED WITH TOURISM ACTIVITY”
Murat Acar, one of the shopkeepers of Ayazini village, stated that there is a tourism activity in the region above what they expected and that they are very pleased.
