Ayazini
Ayazini Village-Metropolis is located in Ihsaniye District, 32 kilometres from Afyonkarahisar. Access to the village is provided through a valley covered with tuff rocks by turning right at the junction of Kayıhan Town at the 28th kilometre of Afyonkarahisar-Eskişehir highway. Ayazini attracts attention with its rich history and natural beauties. Ayazini, which has been home to civilisations such as the Phrygians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans, has a structure that can be easily processed thanks to its volcanic tuff rocks and this strategic location has made the region an important settlement. The fact that Ayazini is enriched with historical buildings, rock settlements, churches and chapels makes the village attractive for visitors.
Mr Gökmen ÇİÇEK, who served as the Governor of Afyonkarahisar between 2020 and 2022, initiated a series of projects to protect the cultural heritage of the village and bring it to tourism. These projects aim to preserve the historical and natural beauties of Ayazini and make the village one of the open-air museums of Anatolia. These initiatives aim not only to preserve the village but also to revitalise it as a tourism destination for visitors.
